warm water about 110°F

sugar

tablespoon

shortening

dash

salt

Scald milk and cool a little.

Soften yeast in warm water. Stand 5 minutes.

Pour milk over sugar, salt and shortening.

When luke warm blend 1 cup flour.

Stir in yeast and beat well; add flour slowly till done.

Knead until smooth.

Put in greased bowl; cover till doubles in size (takes about 1 hour)

Punch down and let raise till doubles again.

Punch down and shape into balls the size of golf balls.

Place in greased pans, cover till doubles.

Bake at 400°F for 30 minutes or until brown.

Makes about 40 rolls.
