bread crumbs

Cook beans in 3 quarts of water. When almost done, add 1/2 tablespoon chili powder and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt.

Combine meat, onion and garlic in skillet; brown until done. Add tomato puree, bread crumbs and remaining salt. Simmer 15 minutes.

Combine meat and beans. You may need to add more water.

Yield: 3 quarts
